Meyhane will present a special concert of Epirotic music in a tribute to klarino player, Haralambos Fakos this Friday at Box Hill Community Arts Centre.
The musicians of Meyhane will make a CD recording of the music of Haralambos Fakos, a clarinet player from Epirus who has spent most of his adult life in Australia, playing his traditonal music for the Melbourne Greek community.
One of a family of musical sons who emigrated here, Haralambos Fakos was known for trying to preserve traditional Greek music in the Australian diaspora, and was loved by generations of Greeks.
The concert will be a CD launch for: Meyhane play a tribute to Haralambos Fakos: “My Bird So Far From Home”
