In the crowded hall of AHEPA NSW, and in the presence of new world rowing champions Eleftherios Konsolas and Spyridon Giannaros, The Order of the Australasian Hellenic Educational Progressive celebrated last Sunday the National Independence Day, 25 March 1821. On Sunday morning, at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith, the special guests from Greece, Konsolas and Giannaros, were crowned World Cup Champions in the final of the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls, with a three-second difference from the Chinese, and Australians who came third.
