Braith Anasta and his fiancee Australian actress Jodi Gordon, are the new ambassadors for the Black Tie for Breast Cancer charity gala event. Together, they will help raise funds to build a new cancer centre at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, New South Wales.
Cancer is a disease close to both their hearts with Anasta's mother recent battle with the disease and Gordon who tragically lost her boyfriend and soulmate Chris Burkhardt to leukemia in 2007. Anasta told The Daily Telegraph that it was important for him to raise funds for the hospital where his mother was treated.
"I came on board (with the charity) pretty much about the time that Mum had cancer,'' Anasta said. "She's doing fantastic, she comes through with flying colours. It's a time in our lives we'll never forget ... but it's one that's close to our hearts,'' Anasta said.
