After a week of to-ing and fro-ing, Sydney FC midfielder Terry Antonis has put pen to paper, signing a three-year deal with PAOK FC after completing a medical.

Following the deal, the 21-year-old praised Sydney FC and its fans for their support.

“I’d like to thank Sydney FC for its help and support in my development over the last five years and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity it has given me,” he said.

“I will continue to support the club and believe it will go on to have a fantastic season with the talent that is in the squad. I wish the team well as I embark on a new challenge.”

Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold gave Antonis his blessings as he embarks on the next phase of his football career. “Terry has been a great servant to the club and is a great kid with lots of potential. This is a very good opportunity for him and we couldn’t stand in his way.

“He has always been keen to make the step overseas and I’ve no doubt he’ll go on to have a long career in Europe, and with the Australian national teams.”

Antonis, who holds Greek citizenship, may still be loaned out to fellow Super League club Veria FC, according to reports.
