Melbourne City Academy in Bundoora will host the 2017 Foxtel All Stars Tim Cahill Ambitions tour early next year, aimed at giving aspiring young footballers the opportunity to experience life as a professional footballer.

The five-day training camp with current Socceroo superstar Tim Cahill will take place on 15-20 January, and will give 24 selected young players (12 girls and 12 boys), exposure to intense coaching and mentoring from industry experts, aimed at improving their game.

At the end of the camp, the two players (one girl, one boy) judged to have the most dedication, ambition and personal drive will each be offered a football scholarship, which will involve ongoing mentoring for the rest of the year, and more exclusive football experiences aimed at kick-starting their professional careers.

The two current 2016 scholarship winners, Lani Johnson and Charlie Watt, spent a week in August, in Manchester in England, training at the Manchester City Football Academy.

Prior to that, Johnson was also invited to spend time with the Matildas, observing them from close quarters when they were in training camp for a warm-up match just prior to their Olympic campaign.

The All Stars program has been running since 2013 and is aimed at delivering a free program to Australian kids.

If you’re a young footballer interested in a professional football career, or know someone who fits the bill, applications for the Foxtel All Stars Tim Cahill Ambitions tour are now open and close on Friday 25 November. Applicants are required to be 15-16 years of age at the commencement of the camp on 15 January, 2017.
