Athens Photo Festival (APF) is the leading international festival of photography in Southeastern Europe.

Under the title 'Still Searching', APF celebrates its 30-year anniversary, and continues its tradition of exploring the social impact of this ever-changing visual culture.

The programme works within international, national, and local contexts, encompassing a variety of activities designed to reflect the diversity of contemporary photographic practice, and to create opportunities for exchange of ideas, artistic expression, and international engagement.

The main exhibitions for 2017 will take place from 7 June to 30 July at the Benaki Museum, presenting a wide spectrum of works selected through the current international open call for proposals. At the core of the festival is a range of events, including portfolio reviews, screenings, talks, discussions, workshops, and various community and participatory projects.

The festival also encourages community involvement through satellite exhibitions in several different locations in the city.

An important aspect to note is the APF's an open submission process in which artists and photographers from all over the world are invited to submit their work to be considered for the 2017 exhibition programme.

The festival is looking for an array of works, ranging from fine art to documentary and photojournalism, photo-based installations and multimedia works.
Meanwhile, the APF is also accepting submissions for its photo book section and the Young Greek Photographers exhibition.

The submission deadline is Monday 10 April.
