Visitors to Athens, as well as the thousands of commuters passing by the Syntagma metro rail station daily, are up for a mirthful surprise.

The station’s exhibition area is hosting a cartoon exhibition focusing on the European Union and the member-countries’ relations.

Organised by the Greek Cartoonists’ Association, “Sweet Europe” offers a humorous and acute commentary on the plight of the European Union and the european culture, given the rise of fascism, xenophobia, unemployment and inequality.

Given the impact of ‘Brexit’ on EU, the Greek Cartoonists Association invited 28 British cartoonists:
