A doctor blamed for the death of an 11-month-old was sentenced to four years in prison on Thursday.
Based on the island on Crete, the infant died during an operation at the University Hospital of Crete in November 2012 as a result of complications that arose during the procedure, reports Kathimerini.
The convicted doctor and his legal representatives have since decided to appeal the decision, resulting in suspension of the sentence.
