The Food For Thought Network (FFTN) held its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, where members discussed the many highlights of 2016.

Since being founded 15 years ago by chair, Varvara Athanasiou-Ioannou the network has come a long way with many achievements.

This year they hosted a sold-out International Women’s Day event in partnership with the Manningham City Council as a fundraiser for their 2016 sponsoree Alexandra Douros, along with the Women in Leadership – Women in Politics event.

“We thank all who have supported us in this milestone year, celebrating our 15th year,” Ms Athanasiou-Ioannou said.

The AGM was then followed by a special event facilitated by committee member Christina Drossos.

She kicked off the evening’s discussion with a statement that resonated for all in attendance: “The best relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself”.

Committee member Triada Papadimitriou moderator the discussion as women from a diverse range of backgrounds shared their insights, experiences and strategies regarding what they do to feel good about themselves.

Expectations, belief systems and values were all raised as important factors in understanding and achieving happiness on a personal level.

Following a successful year, network members are excited about what’s in store for 2017, so stay tuned for events scheduled on 15 January, 2017 and 5 March, 2017.
