As part of the Paniyiri cultural program, a lecture on Ancient Greek jewellery ‘Mycenaean to Hellenistic’ will be presented by the Solomos Greek Australian Cultural Society.
The presentation will be given by Telemahos Lecatsas, from the perspective of a contemporary goldsmith and Fellow of the Gold and Silversmiths Guild of Australia.
As a designer and craftsman, Lecatsas has always been inspired by his proud heritage and even today there are some ancient design elements which are pertinent to current practice.
The lecture will be given on Wednesday 15 May at the Respite Hall, Greek Community Centre, Edmonstone Street, South Brisbane, at 7.30 pm. Admission for members is $3 and $6 for non members. Supper will be served at the conclusion.
