Legendary Greek drummer George Kollias will return to Australia in March for a series of solo performances and workshops around the country. These performances are aimed not only at drummers but for any fan of music.

He will be performing at The Factory Theatre (105 Victoria Road, Marrickville, NSW) on Thursday 5 March 2015 at 8.00 pm. His drumming workshops are known for pushing boundaries and inspiring the ‘creation’ of new sounds, mixing metal music with ethnic beats. George Kollias is no stranger to the Australian audience, as he has collaborated closely with the legendary extreme metal band Nile, touring the lucky country several times over their illustrious career. He is also well-known in the Australian metal scene, gaining thousands of followers through his critically acclaimed educational DVDs entitled Intense Metal Drumming 1 & 2, and his latest best-selling book The Odyssey of Double Bass Drumming.

George’s YouTube videos have notched up millions of views, leaving his viewers in awe in trying to prove what can be performed on the instrument and relying on his rare ability to ‘multitask’. George will perform a selection of Nile material, as well as debut his own solo work for the first time. Joining George for his Sydney and Brisbane performances will be Australian drummer Dave Haley – who is best known for his work with some of the country’s most popular metal acts: Psycroptic, The Amenta, Ruins and Blood Duster. Dave will perform a selection of material from all the bands he has worked with over the years. The tickets cost $20, booking fee included.
