Young Greek Australian filmmaker Natalie Cunningham’s award-winning short film You Know What? I Love You has been shortlisted to feature in this year’s Colourfest Film Festival.

A multicultural event celebrating cultural diversity, films chosen for the festival give recognition to the changing faces of the Australian identity, through the various waves of migration.

Cunningham’s documentary, based in Melbourne, stars the filmmaker alongside her 94-year-old grandmother, Giannoula Panagiotopoulos.

Set during a sunny afternoon, viewers are exposed to the tight-knit relationship shared between grandmother and granddaughter, in a conversation that takes viewers on a colourful journey through memory.

A screening of the six short films will be take place in a 60-minute showcase of cultural exploration, including Sudanese, Chinese, Turkish, Vietnamese and Greek faces, amongst others.

Scheduled as part of the Hobsons Bay City Council’s Cultural Diversity Week, the screening will take place on Thursday 19 March, 2015 at The Substation.
