Kostas and Poppy Gribilas have continued to honour their daughter’s memory, calling on the community to donate to the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

The couple held a radiothon last week that saw more than $47,000 being pledged to the newly formed Konstantina Angelique Gribilas Foundation.

The family lost their daughter suddenly in 2013, after she suffered heart complications.

The care Konstantina Angelique received at the Sydney Children’s Hospital is something that stayed with the couple and it was what pushed them to form a fundraising foundation to give back and say thanks.

The radiothon saw hundreds of people call up and pledge, with a few big names in Greece also chiming in.
Greek TV personalities Nana Palaitsaki and Alexandra Tsolka joined the radiothon live to give the drive some celebrity power, helping the couple reach the huge sum.

“I didn’t expect it to be this successful, but it’s for a great cause and everyone wants to help make a difference,” Poppy Gribilas tells Neos Kosmos.

The couple was amazed at the generosity of so many, personally thanking the huge number of pensioners going out of their way to pledge donations.

The foundation will also be hosting a fundraising dinner on March 20, and all the money raised from both the radiothon and the dinner will be given to the hospital in a lump sum.

The funds will go to the hospital’s intensive care unit in the hopes it will be able to buy new equipment.
