The Victorian Minister for Industrial Relations Natalie Hutchins has thrown open nominations for the annual Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Excellence Awards with the support of Delphi Bank.

Recognised as the premier business and community awards for the Hellenic Australian community, the HACCI Excellence Awards acknowledge and reward organisations and individuals that have achieved excellence in their chosen fields.

“For more than 40 years, one of HACCI’s key objectives has been to recognise excellence within the community and to reward those who have not only achieved outstanding success in their pursuits, but who have also shown tremendous generosity in contributing to the community,” said HACCI Chair Georgegina Poulos.

“The contribution of the Hellenic Australian community has had a tremendous impact in shaping the fabric of the Australia we live in today and HACCI is excited to acknowledge a fresh group of contributors with this year’s awards,” Ms Poulos added.

Minister Natalie Hutchins launched the awards, detailing the criteria for the following categories:

• The Spiros Stamoulis Lifetime Achievement Award
• The Delphi Bank Business Excellence Award
• The Professional Excellence Award
• The Chris Saristavros Young Achievers Award
• The Community Service Award
• The Sporting Excellence Award, awarded by the South Melbourne Football Club.

“Can I encourage you to think about either nominating yourself or nominating someone within your business or organisation, or in your community to come forward and be recognised,” Ms Hutchins said.

“For a lot of people we underestimate the importance of just being nominated. Sometimes it’s not only about winning the prize but actually being recognised for the work that you’re doing.”

“I’m pleased that there’s a mentoring program that underpins some of this work and I hope that some of the mentees consider nominating,” the Minister concluded.

Nomination forms can be found at www.hacci.com.au or by emailing info@hacci.com.au. Nominations close Friday 14th October 2016.

The awards will be presented at the HACCI Excellence Awards Gala Ball at the Grand Hyatt Savoy Ballroom on Friday 18th November 2016. Contact info@hacci.com.au for bookings.

The Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI) was established in 1964 to represent the Hellenic Australian business and professional community and to promote bilateral trade between Greece and Australia.
