Hadid returns to Sydney Olympic

Sydney Olympic FC announced last week the signing of former Bankstown City Lions and Gold Coast United attacking midfielder Aman Hadid.

Aman Hadid was one of the most discussed NSW Premier League players in the 2011 season and obtained much praise and acclaim from football fans, journalists and A-League coaches alike. Much so, that the talented striker became the 3rd player to obtain a contract with the Hyundai A-League side Gold Coast United. Hadid scored 5 goals in the 2011 season of the NSWPL before moving to the Gold Coast to begin his stint with the A-League side.

"It was a new experience living away from home. Cooking, cleaning and renting, along with the football training 2 times per day, [it] made me a completely different person. "Responsibility played a major part and it moved all through my eating, sleeping, living and training habits. Consistency and good performance was highly necessary in order to keep a spot in the squad " Hadid said after his appointment.

He is no stranger to the 'blue and white' having played for the 'Blues' previously in the 2006/07 and 2008/09 seasons. Hadid made his debut for Sydney Olympic FC at age17 and lists his debut as a significant career highlight. Thus, a return to the club was never truly off the cards and inevitable. "I believe it is one of the most professional clubs in NSW. It has great facilities and a great supporting team behind the scenes. These are the main traits that help to develop and promote footballers " he said.

In the upcoming 2012 season, Hadid will reunite with two of his former team-mates Chris Triantis and Manny Giannaros, who are also members of the 2012 first grade squad. Hadid also revealed his personal goals for the forthcoming 2012 season. "Besides avoiding injury and entertaining the audience. I would like to take each game as a grand final" he said. The talented attacking midfielder is by no means inexperienced having trained with the Olyroos, represented the NSW State team, scored against AC Milan in a friendly match and represented the Lebanon National Team (2011).

Praised for his technical skills and awareness, as well as, his striking technique, Hadid will be a definite asset for the 'Blues' and will also be 'one to watch' by the Olympic faithful. The attacking midfielder issued a brief statement upon the completion of his interview, one that serves as a motivating force that perhaps has guided his stellar career to date. "Football does not create characters, it eliminates weak ones, " he said.
