Hawthorn Spartans romp into grand final
The Spartans with a full side played their usual quick run and spread brand of football to win the second semi-final by 67 points

The Spartans set the pattern of the match from the first quarter by kicking 4.4 to Therry Penola zip. It was much the same up to half time until the third quarter when the Spartans stamped their authority on the game with some tight defensive work to draw away and take an 11 goal victory at the final siren
