The Cretan Brotherhood of Melbourne honoured the Venizelia Commemoration on 1 March with great success, in a celebration which was attended by several community officials and representatives.

The Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Mrs Christina Simandiraki, laid a wreath at the Eleftherios Venizelos monument at the Cretan Brotherhood premises in Melbourne. A photographic exhibition was on display, portraying the life and times of the Greek Cretan prime minister who help change Greece’s modern history. Following the wreath-laying ceremony, Andreas Manolarakis and his band performed traditional Cretan songs, offering the visitors an unforgettable and immersive experience, leading to a Pentozali dance marathon for the dancing groups and some very enthusiastic guests.
