Jim Giannopoulos is the Greek American CEO and chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment. It is under his management that FFE has seen the most profitable years in its history, in spite of the extremely low budget its studios have been working with.

Giannopoulos has had one of the longest tenures at the chair of Fox’s studios, therefore he will be honoured at this year’s CinemaCon convention with the Pioneer of the Year award.

The world-known annual convention, gathering movie theatre owners from across the globe, filmmakers, producers, top Hollywood names, as well as thousands of fans, will be held in Las Vegas this year on April 22, sharing the latest advances in cinematic technology and the state of the film and theatre industry.

Giannopoulos’ roster of international blockbusting commercial successes includes the Taken series, Avatar and The Day After Tomorrow, as well as critically acclaimed artistic films such as Gone Girl, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Life of Pi.
