Nick Kyrgios didn't manage to stay in Wimbledon this year. A hip injury urged him to pull out of the tournament after just 65 minutes on court. He pocketed $65,000 for the loss. But staying out of Wimbledon does not mean staying out of the attention of media; the Greek-Australian tennis star managed to keep media busy with stories of him spending his money on houses and cars, working out in the gym and possibly breaking up with his girlfriend.

Having earned more than $4.5 million career prize money so far, Kyrgios, who is sponsored by companies such as Nike and Yonex, could easily afford the $583,000 house he purchased in Tuross Head, on the New South Wales south coast for his family.

Media reports were filled with description of the "stunning" house, which has three bathrooms, four bedrooms, a suite, a gamesroom and parking space for two vehicles, one of which will probably be the $180,000 Dodge Challenger Hellcat he recently bought in Miami. With the help of his brother, the 22-year-old tennis star had the car modified to suit Australian standards and imported to his hometown of Canberra, where he promised to be very careful while driving it.

Both purchases were reported as being the silver lining to his early departure from Wimbledon, which led to more news stories around him, after he was spotted partying with Australian tennis player Monique Belovukovic and British rising star Chelsea Samways, both 18. Photos of them hugging each other on a night out in London raised eyebrows, and apparently caused the ire of his girlfriend, Croatian-Australian tennis pro Ajla Tomljanovic, who deleted all photos of Kyrgios from her instagram page and then unfollowed him, which in the social media world is the most concrete evidence of a breakup.

"When people don't know what's going on in your life they speculate ... When they think they know they fabricate", was Kyrgios' cryptic reply on his own instagram account, in which he shares his daily training routine, as he is recovering from his injury, two weeks ahead of the Citi Open in Washington in which he hopes to participate.
