Maria Menounos will be taking over from Giuliana Rancic as the main female anchor on the celebrity news show E! News from 10 August.
Barely a month has gone by since Rancic made the announcement of her resignation, stating “for more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show”.
The 40-year-old former anchor has had a tough year and was criticised for her controversial ‘racial’ jokes about Zendaya Coleman.
She will, however, appear on the shows Fashion Police and Live! From The Red Carpet.
The news of Maria Menounos filling Rancic’s place came as no surprise.
The Greek American presenter was hired by the E! network in May 2014 to produce and host her own show, Untold With Maria Menounos.
Up until then she had hosted Extra for three years.
It has been reported that the two women had a long-standing feud behind the scenes and that this allegedly prompted Giuliana’s resignation.
