This year’s National Conference of Ethnic Broadcasters has been a celebration of 30 years since its commencement, themed ’30 years: Create – Connect – Celebrate’.

The unique event brought hundreds of ethnic community broadcasters together, including political representatives, community leaders, academics and multicultural organisations.

The event kicked off last week with the Radioactive Youth Media Conference, and was followed by the main conference reception.

The NEMBC’s main conference unfolded on Saturday, along with the gala dinner and awards presentation.

Once again, the event was opened by Shadow Minister for Citizenship and Multiculturalism and Shadow Assistant Minister for Communications, MP Michelle Rowland.

Executive director of Community Languages Australia, Stefan Romaniw OAM, took the role of keynote speaker.
