Do you know a young person who is making a real difference in their community? They could very well be a worthy candidate for the 2017 Victorian Young Achiever Awards.

Nominations were officially opened on Tuesday by Minister for Youth Affairs and Patron of the Victorian Young Achiever Awards, Jenny Mikakos.

With the youth set to be the future leaders and change-makers, the awards are a chance to recognise their efforts and to encourage them to persevere, while showcasing them as role models.

“Through creativity, skills and hard work, young people from different backgrounds, cultures and places are shaping their local communities and having a positive impact,” said Ms Mikakos.

“As Patron of the Victorian Young Achiever Awards, I’m proud to celebrate the leadership and achievements of young people who are making a real difference to other people’s lives in Victoria.”

The awards are open to young people aged up to 29 years, and recognise achievements across categories ranging from leadership, volunteering, arts and fashion.
