The Victorian Premier, John Brumby, is leading a community walk July 12 to reaffirm the government’s commitment to our multicultural community.

Walk for Harmony will show the community’s support for Victoria’s cultural and religious diversity.

The chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC),George Lekakis.  said, “Now is the time to highlight to a national and international audience that our commitment to multiculturalism is stronger than ever and that the Victorian community values the contributions that people from around the world have made to our State.”

He added, “I call on all Victorians to join the Premier for this important display of unity to the rest of the world.”

At the conclusion of the Walk, participants will hear from our speakers and enjoy an exciting musical performance.

Walk for Harmony will commence on Sunday July 12 at 1:00pm at the Carlton Gardens, and will travel along La Trobe and Swanston Streets and finish at Federation Square.
