KAO Dramas gave depleted Olympiakos a scare at the Peace and Friendship Stadium on Monday, but the league leaders eventually managed to get their 20th win in 21 games.

The Reds won by 10 (72-62) to stay one point ahead of champion Panathinaikos, that was also in action on Monday. The Greens overcame struggling Korivos Amaliadas at home with a 79-64 score and its captain, Dimitris Diamantidis registered another record as he reached the highest number of defensive rebounds (1,506) in the A1 division. He has left former teammate Costas Tsartsaris in second with 1,505 defensive rebounds.

AEK scored a tough 72-65 victory on Rhodes over Kolossos on Saturday, but its coach, Dragan Sakota complained that his players seemed to take some wins for granted.

Aris stayed in third by edging out bottom club Panionios 67-63, while rival PAOK defeated the other team in the drop zone, Panelefsiniakos with 69-58 score at Elefsina.

In other weekend games, Nea Kifissia saw off visiting Trikala 81-72 and AGO Rethymnou consolidated itself at the sixth position by downing Apollon 71-56 at Patra.
