Latest news from the Hawthorn Spartans: training has shifted to a new facility at oval number 5 at Macleay Park in Belmore Rd, Balwyn North.

The team is fortunate to have many who assist with training and also sponsor the team - ANL Lighting, Fred Zito, R Rent and Arthur Korf are always providing refreshments, setting up cones for drills and organising the players within their zones.

The team's assistant coaches are Wayne Morley, Chris Higgins and when available, the Director of Football Phiv Demetriou. With Dennis Dellarportas, Michael El Moussalli and Frank Donnoli also playing their part, the side looks in great shape.

The Leadership Group under Coach, Con Terzoglou was also announced last week, with Anthony Demetriou nominated as captain.

The leadership group consists of Ari Mitropoulos, Chris Armatas, Andrew Toumbakis and Brennan Walsh. The early pre-season has presented the opportunity for the Spartans to have seven players represented in the Greek Team for the Harmony Cup on March 18. They are, Anthony Demetriou, Con Terzoglou, Ari Mitropoulos, Chris Armatas, Paul Doubakis, Emmanuel Terezakis and Peter Pipertzis.
