Nominations are now open to the community for this year’s Sir John Monash awards.

The annual awards are designed to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work of those who make a positive contribution to the Monash community.
Monash Mayor Paul Klisaris, states that “these volunteers are the heartbeat of [the] community”, and through the Sir John Monash awards, their efforts and hard work can be recognised.

Mr Klisaris calls for nominations from the community and urges the community to take the time to nominate anyone who is making a difference.

The winners of the awards, which have eight categories, will be announced during National Volunteer Week in May, at a ceremony that will be held at the Monash Art Gallery on the 13th of May.
The categories include:
– Volunteer of the Year

– Sustainability Leadership
– Active Monash

The awards will also honour one overall winner of the Sir John Monash award, selected from the winners of the awards categories.
