The Spartans went on to record another great win last week against an opposition which is entrenched in the top four. With a dominant second quarter of football through midfield domination the Hawthorn outfit broke the game open. After half time the Spartans took control of the match with their run, spread and lateral kicking into the corridor to post a solid win with full-forward Higgins finishing the day with five goals.

Looking forward, the most difficult task facing the Spartans coaching panel this year is selecting a finals side from the abundant talent available in the team. The Spartans, undefeated so far this season, have asserted their premiership favouritism by kicking 20, 25, 30 and 22 goals over their last four games.
