Fifty-one scoring shots with a 72% conversion rate had the Hawthorn Spartans secure their best match result to date. It was so good that their opponents, Masala, recorded a no score.

Masala didn’t know what hit them, failing to get the ball past any of the posts in all four quarters. Up against a ruthless Spartan defence and forward line, the team struggled to get back in form despite starting strong in the first 20 minutes. In the end, it was a woeful score for Masala, finishing 0 against the Spartan’s 171 points.

The Spartans now sit on top of the ladder with six straight wins and no losses. Second on the ladder Old Xaverians sit four points behind the Spartans, while the Spartans percentage is more than 200 points ahead than anyone else.

The will be hoping to add to those results when they take on Old Geelong at Rathmines Road Reserve, Hawthorn
East at 11.40am.

The canteen will be open with hot food, coffee and drinks.
