Perth’s St Andrew’s Grammar officially opened the doors of the George & Despina Berbatis Gymnasium on Sunday.

The highly-anticipated event was well attended by more than 400 guests, including students, parents, families and friends of the school, along with representatives of the Hellenic Association of WA.

Senator Linda Reynolds and Premier Colin Barnett unveil the plaque commemorating the official opening of the gymnasium.

Also in attendance was the Premier of Western Australia, Colin Barnett MLA; Senator Linda Reynolds; Member for Perth and the first school teacher at St Andrew’s Grammar, Eleni Evangel MLA; deputy regional governor of Thessaloniki, Paraskevi (Voula) Patoulidou; Tom Koutsanbanis MLA and Alannah MacTiernan MLA.

The project was jointly funded by the Australian government, Western Australian government, and a significant financial contribution by the Berbatis family and the Hellenic Association of Western Australia.
