A foundation stone ceremony was held at the Greek Orthodox Parish of St Paraskevi in St Albans.
The ceremony was conducted by Bishop Ezekiel as a blessing for the construction of the new community hall, which is expected to commence soon.
Amongst those gathered on the day was the Federal Member for Calwell, Maria Vamvakinou.
Following the ceremony, the Labor MP took to Facebook to share her thoughts on the impending project.
“Congratulations to Father Demos and his committee for their hard work,” Ms Vamvakinou wrote.
“Once the community hall is built, it will be a welcomed asset to the
local community.”
