Inspired by classical Greek theatre, the pop-up open-air theatre will be presenting work of special significance to the Greek and wider Australian community.
One of the events you’ll have the chance to enjoy is Sappho, presented in nine fragments.
Written by Jane Montgomery Griffiths, the one-woman play, performed by Mary Helen Sassman, is a homage to Sappho, the ancient Greek love poet whose work has echoed through the centuries.
The preview will take place on Tuesday 17 November, with the season continuing over four nights. Cost of admission is $28 for the preview, and $38 thereafter.
Another event not to be misses is a special oration by Dr Efrosini Deligianni of the University of New South Wales and local performer Jim Adamik.
Entitled Athenian Democracy: From Solon To Tsipras, the pair will deliver selections of the most powerful and significant speeches from Greek democracy, in English and in their original language, either Ancient or Modern Greek.
Cost of admission is $10.
