As part of Term 3 of the 2014 Greek History and Culture Seminars hosted by the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria, open lecture The Megali Idea: Greek Irredentism and Slavo-Macedonism will be given by Dimitris Gonis.

Dimitris Gonis is currently writing his PhD thesis in Greek Studies at La Trobe University. His work focuses on the role of memory in the construction of Macedonian identities in Australia. Since 2011 he has taught Modern Greek, Trans-territorial Hellenism as well as Ethnic and Civil Conflict in Southern Europe and in Cyprus in the School of Historical and European Studies at La Trobe University.
