Greece midfielder Panagiotis Kone has been snapped up by Serie A side Udinese, after his former side Bologna was relegated to the Italian Serie B last season.

According to Udinese’s official Twitter account, the 27-year-old has signed for the club on a permanent basis but it did not release the financial or contractual details of the move.

Last month the UK’s Daily Mail reported that Kone was being touted for a move to newly promoted English Premier League side QPR, following an impressive
World Cup in Brazil which saw the Greeks progress to the round of 16.

Earlier in the week, AEL Kalloni hosted Udinese in a friendly with the match finishing 2-2.
