Following on from the success of White Night Melbourne over the past four years, regional Victoria is set to get its very own White Night in Ballarat.
So far the 2017 event has received an overwhelming response from artists and performers, and with an increasingly high calibre of entrants, organisers have decided to extend the Expressions of Interest to September 11, 2016.
The inaugural event will burst to life on Saturday 4 March, taking over the city’s streets, laneways, parklands, public spaces and cultural institutions of Ballarat with installations, lighting, exhibitions, street performances, film, music, dance and interactive events.
It’ll be a chance to see the city as you know it, turned on its head in a dusk ‘til dawn celebration of culture and creativity, where the surreal seems real.
Organisers hope the event will follow a similar path to White Night Melbourne, which since its inception in 2013 has played an important role in supporting local and national Australian artists.
White Night Ballarat will take place on Saturday 4 March, 2017 at 7pm til 7am Sunday 5 March, 2017.
