Mary Coustas is bringing her show back again, new and improved, to Sydney and Melbourne audiences, after the birth of her child Jamie.
The new mum is booked to start her show A Date with Effie – Looking for Love and Child Support in March and again in May as part of the Melbourne and Sydney Comedy Festivals.
It will be the first venture back to her comedy roots after the actress gave birth in late December.
Ending the year heavily pregnant, Coustas felt her character Effie should be too, and put it in her show that Effie fell pregnant from “immaculate conception”.
It shows true character that Coustas can make light of her situation after years of trying to fall pregnant.
The well-documented battle Coustas had in trying to get pregnant touched audiences last year. Over her 10-year quest to become a mother she endured IVF treatment, miscarriages, using donor eggs and devastatingly falling pregnant with triplets, facing selective reduction and then giving birth to a stillborn daughter.
Her alter-ego Effie will be back searching for the ‘one’, and seeking child support.
