Alphington Grammar shows Greek-owned organisations plans for revamp

Melbourne's Alphington Grammar recently opened their doors to a number of Greek organisations for an open day at the campus.
Alphington Chairman Nick Koukouvitakis organised the event to open up the school during working hours to let Greek businesses see the school's teachers and students in action, following a $8 million revamp.
The organisations were shown through six new classrooms and a new multipurpose hall, as well as being provided with an outline of the next building projects, which the school and the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria (GOCMV) plan to embark upon. These include plans for a new science wing, and upgrade to the library.
Students were involved in welcoming the guests. The school band performed some Greek music, while school captains spoke about their experiences and appreciation of the school.
During his speech, Mr Koukouvitakis explained the engagement with community leaders was an effort to encourage greater levels of engagement with the broader local community.
