Australian Ryan Briscoe, in the IZOD Team Penske Chevrolet, took pole position at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last weekend with a blistering four lap average speed of 364.481 kms/h, completing the 16km run in just 2 minutes 38.9514 seconds

Indy Championship points leader and fellow Australian Will Power qualified his Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet in fifth position at an average speed of 362.771 km/h, and will start from row two.
