The Beirut Hellenic Bank cut the ribbon on its new Northcote branch last week. Present at the opening were members of the local community, as well as political and public figures from the Greek and Lebanese communities in Melbourne.
Managing director and CEO James Wakim said the bank aims to continue to provide services connecting communities in Australia with friends and relatives in their homelands through the bank's offerings.
Camwell MP Maria Vamvakinou welcomed the new addition to the community, adding the bank is representative of the Greek and Lebanese communities in her electorate.
"We look forward to getting the broader community involved in alternative banking, which reflects a solid and reliable competition in the Australian Financial Market, as well as the diversity in this country," she said.
