Big Cake Bake!
It’s a piece of cake to transform lives - Red Cross invites you to take part in Big Cake Bake
Grab your cookbooks and move your mixer to centre stage, it's time to bake the world a better place and raise much-needed funds for Australian Red Cross.
Launched in 2011, Big Cake Bake is a community fundraising campaign for Red Cross everyone can take part in. Just by baking your favourite cakes, slices or biscuits and then hosting an event, you can make a huge difference to the lives of those who need help the most.
"Cooking for my family and friends is a way for me to show them that I love and care for them. In a similar way, Big Cake Bake is a chance for all of us to show that we care about those in need. So please get out your mixing bowl, put on your oven mitts and make a difference," says Australian Red Cross Big Cake Bake ambassador Marion Grasby.
To become a Big Cake Bake host, register at www.bigcakebake.org.au and you'll receive a kit with a special oven mitt and all the information needed to run a Big Cake Bake event.
On Monday 27 August and throughout August and September, hosts will be cooking, sharing and enjoying delicious homemade treats at home, workplaces and social groups while raising funds for Red Cross.
Red Cross Big Cake Bake ambassadors Chris Bath, Marion Grasby, Adrian Richardson and Kate Ritchie have each provided a recipe for Big Cake Bake and these are available at www.bigcakebake.org.au.
"I support the everyday work of Australian Red Cross and am excited to be part of Big Cake Bake because it is a wonderful way of sharing recipes and ideas while making a difference," says Melbourne chef Adrian Richardson, who is an Australian Red Cross Big Cake Bake ambassador.
Every dollar raised can make a big difference to those who are experiencing everyday difficulties. Raising $150 will help Red Cross give vulnerable young families around Australia vital support and skills so the parents can provide their children with the best start in life.
"We all want to see change so please join me in the kitchen and support Big Cake Bake, too," says Australian Red Cross Big Cake Bake ambassador Kate Ritchie.
Register as a host for one of the most delicious events of the year by visiting www.bigcakebake.org.au You can also support someone else's event by making a donation online by emailing bigcakebake@redcross.org.au or call 1800 652 635 during business hours.
