Producers of MasterChef Australia have been criticised by psychologists for the cruelty the show inflicts on contestants.
By not allowing contestants contact with family and friends, psychologists fear for their mental health. Contestants on the smash hit Channel 10 show spend over six months away from their family and friends and are only allowed a ten minute phone call each week.
This also puts their goals, needs and wants before their family, which it is suggested could produce long-term problems for their family, especially those with little children.
