The Palme d’Or winner at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Blue is the Warmest Colour, will be shown at an exclusive screening by the Greek Film Festival.
Blue is the Warmest Colour has the unique distinction of being the first film to share that honour equally between three artists: Tunisian-born director Abdellatif Kechiche (The Secret of the Grain) and his two lead actors. It’s a testament to their extraordinary collaboration in bringing to life Julie Maroh’s graphic novel about a young woman’s erotic and emotional awakening.
Greek-French actress Adèle Exarchopoulos gives a career-defining performance as Adele, a teen who falls for a blue-haired art student named Emma (Léa Seydoux). Much has been said about the film’s graphic and controversial sex scenes, but ultimately this is an intimate, passionate tale of love in all its euphoric intensity and ephemeral messiness.
Blue is the Warmest Colour (La vie d’Adele) will screen on Sunday 2 February at 6.00 pm at Palace Cinema Como, 299 Toorak Rd, South Yarra, Tickets: $20 Full / $15 Greek Community Premium Members, by calling (03) 9827 7533 or online at www.palacecinemas.com.au
