• Germany’s most popular women’s magazine, Brigitte, is banning professional models from its pages and replacing them with images of real life women instead. The magazine has announced that as of next year it will no longer work with professional models as they are too thinand have body shapes that are irrelevant to their readers. The magazine will now call on its readers to put themselves forward as models for fashion and makeup articles.
  • A bra which in an emergency can double as a pair of gas masks has won an award at the Ig Nobels, Harvard University’s awards for the year’s most eccentric research. The bra can be turned into two protective face masks – one for the wearer and the other for whoever else may need one – took out the Public Health category.
  • Luxury fashion brand, Emanuel Ungaro, managed to lure terminal trashbag Lindsay Lohan away from the bar and into the office to help design their spring collection. While the collection was unanimously panned by the fashion pack, it did manage to get the brand a heap of publicity.
  •  ‘Project Runway’ fans will soon be able to ‘make it work,’ with the release of a Nintendo Wii game next year. The game will be modelled after the reality show, with players competing as aspiring fashion designers charged with various sewing and design tasks.
