Paroikia theatrical company will open their version of the hit UK film and stage production The Full Monty on Saturday 1 February.
The play, entitled Men Ready for Anything, tells the story of a handful of Greek male friends who, while struggling with financial difficulties as a result of the crisis, resort to strip dance for earning money. Classes of strip dance are delivered to them by a Russian female performer and both facts seem to shock the community of their small hometown. The paradox plot itself promises to offer a spectacle of continuous laughter.
Thanasis Papathanasiou and Mihalis Reppas, the Greek directors of Men Ready for Anything, started showing the play last winter in Athens and garnered much love from the crowds. After its success on tour in Greece over the summer, it has recently reappeared in Athenian halls. And now, under the directorship of Thanasis Makrygiorgos, it is set to open in Kew on February 1.
