HP are taking 3D very seriously, and have announced a new display which packs a whole lot of punch.

The 23-inch 2311gt panel provides 1080p resolution and uses Film Patterned Retarder technology (or FPR for the tech heads who like three letter acronyms). This helps create the 3D visuals by aligning every other row of pixels with the left or right eye.

This creates a “sweet spot” of around 50 to 75 centimetres from the screen; makes sense considering the target for this product will most likely be the gamer. Priced at around $350, the product will begin shipping from December; just in time for the Christmas stocking
