More room for baby boom in the top end
NT people find a procreative way to keep warm in winter
Royal Darwin Hospital has seen a record number of babies being born in March with 197 being delivered in the hospital.
Northern Territory Health Minister Kon Vatskalis says he does not know what is behind the baby boom but has a fair idea.
"I asked why and I was told it was a very cold July," he said.
"I don't know if it is true but it works out: July, March.
"But this actually shows you the demand we have got with the young population we have got here in the Territory.
"We have more births, but we are actually renovating the birth ward, we are renovating the children's ward, we are actually providing good services, proper services to Territorians," said the minister.
