H Μόσχα δεν θα αντιτασσόταν σε αποχώρηση Άσαντ
Η Ρωσία δεν θα αντιταχθεί στην αποχώρηση του προέδρου της Συρίας Μπασάρ Αλ-Άσαντ, αν μια τέτοια εξέλιξη προέκυπτε από «διάλογο ανάμεσα στους ίδιους τους Σύρους και δεν επιβάλλεται με εξωτερική πίεση», αναφέρει ο Ρώσος υπουργός Εξωτερικών Σεργκέι Λαβρόφ.
Η Μόσχα επιμένει επίσης στη συμμετοχή του Ιράν σε μελλοντική διεθνή διάσκεψη για τη Συρία, παρά την έντονη αμερικανική αντίθεση, επισημαίνοντας την επιρροή που έχει η Τεχεράνη στο καθεστώς της Δαμασκού.
«Αν οι Σύροι συμφωνούν μεταξύ τους (για την αποχώρηση του Ασαντ), εμείς θα είμαστε ευτυχείς να υποστηρίξουμε μια τέτοια λύση» δήλωσε το Σάββατο ο Λαβρόφ στους δημοσιογράφους.
«Αλλά πιστεύουμε ότι είναι απαράδεκτο να επιβάλλονται οι προϋποθέσεις για έναν τέτοιο διάλογο από το εξωτερικό» τόνισε.
Αναφερόμενος στη συνέχεια στο Ιράν ο Λαβρόφ είπε ότι είναι «απερίσκεπτο» το να αποκλειστεί το Ιράν από μια μελλοντική διεθνή διάσκεψη για τη Συρία που έχει προτείνει η Μόσχα, έστω και αν αυτή τη συμμετοχή την βλέπουν με κακό μάτι οι Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες.
«Το Ιράν είναι μία από τις χώρες που έχουν επιρροή στην κυβέρνηση της Συρίας. Και να λέγεται ότι το Ιράν δεν έχει θέση εκεί διότι είναι μέρος του προβλήματος είναι στην καλύτερη περίπτωση απερίσκεπτο» δήλωσε ο Ρώσος υπουργός Εξωτερικών.
