Olympiakos keen on Makoun
Greek Super League champions Olympiakos Pireaus are reportedly interested in signing Jean Makoun on a permanent deal
Jean Makoun: When he signed for Aston Villa at Bodymoor Heath.
Greek Super League champions Olympiakos Pireaus are reportedly interested in signing Jean Makoun on a permanent deal.
Makoun, a forgotten man at Aston Villa is on a season-long loan to Greek club Olympiakos, but his career was temporarily interrupted by a knee ligament injury sustained in November. However the Cameroon international returned to action at the start of this month and has featured in the last three Greek Super League games.
Sources in Greece indicate Olympiakos, who will be competing in the Europa League after being eliminated from the Champions League, could be willing to make the loan deal permanent in the summer depending on Villa's valuation. McLeish is refusing to rule out a future role at Villa Park for the midfielder, who arrived for a fee in the region of $AUD7.4 million a year ago. But it would seem the player signed by former manager Gerard Houllier from Lyon could once again be surplus to McLeish's midfield requirements.
