A movie based on the Greek mythological hero Theseus, is in production and set for a 2013 release.
In Greek mythology, Theseus is the son of Poseidon, though there has been much debate as to who his father actually was; some believe it was Aegeus, for whom the Aegean Sea was named after. Theseus is most noted for defeating the Minotaur.
Theseus is to be produced by Kalliope Films, with Javor Gardev set to direct the project. Hollywood visual effects pro Korey J. Cauchon will lend his expertise to the look of the film, and the mythical monsters are tipped to be developed by designer Joseph C. Pepe of blockbuster Avatar fame.
