Travel advisory to Greece unchanged
DFAT latest travel advice for Greece

'Exercise caution' is the continuing advice from the Department of Trade and Foreign Affairs (DFAT) for Australians visiting Greece.
Recent violence on the streets of Athens has not resulted in any change to the perceived level of danger to visitors to Greece, according to travel advice reviewed this week by DFAT. The DFAT website continues to warn that "violent rioting can break out in Greek cities with little warning. Australians should exercise particular care in the centre of Athens, Thessaloniki and other major cities."
It also recommends visitors to Greece "should avoid all protests and demonstrations as they may turn violent." The advisory to 'Exercise caution' is one level above the lowest advisory of 'Be alert to your own security'. Advisories for heightened states of alert are to (exercise a) 'High degree of caution', 'Reconsider your need to travel' and 'Do not travel'.
