Australian Mark Webber ended speculation about his future tenure at Red Bull by signing a new one-year contract with the team for 2013 which will see him drive in his seventh season with Red Bull. Webber, who claimed victory recently at Silverstone in the British Grand Prix had been rumoured he was going to Ferrari at the end of the present season.
With defending world champion Sebastian Vettel of Germany already contracted to Red Bull Racing until the end of 2014, the English based team have been the first to confirm their 2013 driver line up ending speculation of any movement of the Red Bull drivers to other camps.
In answer to questions posed by the media if next year will be the 35 year-old’s last season in F1, Webber replied: “I’ve been asked this question for the past four years and my answer remains the same – It’s a results-based sport at the front of the grid so the future lies in my own hands. It’s down to me to deliver the on-track results.”
